When she was injured driving a bus for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, Tonya tried to focus on healing as she underwent physical therapy and medical procedures. She relied on a small worker’s compensation check from her employer to help support her family.By July, she was preparing to have back surgery and having a hard time making ends meet. She asked her landlord if she could pay her July rent late. The landlord went to court and got an eviction judgment against her.  Read more
