Nonprofits Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy and Care Ring provide free, unbiased advice to residents of Mecklenburg County, helping families and individuals choose plans that are best for them within the health insurance marketplace implemented under the Affordable Care Act.
Our federally-certified Navigators are extensively trained in the insurance plan options offered by the marketplace in addition to cost-sharing reductions and premium tax credits eligibility that will help individuals and families better afford their health insurance. Local residents will have the opportunity to schedule appointments with Navigators to receive assistance in applying for health insurance plans and pursuing tax credits and reductions as well as help enrolling in other federal and state health care programs, such as Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). Additional assistance will also be provided to consumers who are disabled, do not speak English or are unfamiliar with health insurance. Enrollment will be open this year from
NOVEMBER 1, 2017 – DECEMBER 15, 2017
Navigators conduct many outreach events and appointments at convenient locations across Mecklenburg County in addition to our Charlotte office, including the
International House, Crisis Assistance Ministry, Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont Opportunity Campus, Latin American Coalition, Stratford-Richardson YMCA, Lake Norman Community Health Clinic, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Libraries, Headlines Barbershop and more.
