LSSP connects with many organizations in Charlotte area that help us meet the needs of our clients and help “assure a full measure of justice for those in need.” Legal Aid of North Carolina (LANC) provides free legal services in civil matters to low-income people in order to ensure equal access to justice and to remove legal barriers to economic opportunity. LSSP and LANC have always been Partners in Justice. From 1967 to 2002, LSSP and LANC were one organization working under the LSSP name. When funding limitations impacted the range of clients that could be served, a reorganization created two separate organizations that enabled both agencies to serve more low-income people in a wider variety of cases than they otherwise would have been able to do. Solvethepuzzlecharlotte.org works to get homeless people off the streets, out of shelters and into permanent housing. It connects those in need along with the essential social services to keep them there and those who want to help with related organizations that would benefit from volunteer service or financial or in-kind support. |
