Legal Services Project Paralegal Advocate

Allison received her B.A. degree in history from the University of Virginia. Last year, she assisted the Catawba Lands Conservancy with real estate paralegal work and grant writing. Her past work as a paralegal includes five years at Moore and Van Allen’s Charlotte office and three years at Hunton & Williams in Richmond, Va. She joined LSSP in September 2012 to serve as the paralegal advocate for the Family Support and Health Care Program and LSSP’s new Veterans Legal Services Project.

Before joining LSSP, Allison volunteered and held leadership positions in the community for more than 25 years with several nonprofits, schools and churches in N.C., including Wing Haven Gardens, Gaston Day School and Belmont Community Organization. She previously served as a member of a health committee for Charlotte Bridge Home and is currently a member of the planning committee for Charlotte’s annual Veterans Stand Down event. In Allison’s ambition to do meaningful work for those in need, she finds great satisfaction in knowing that her work positively affects the lives of LSSP’s clients in a tangible way. Currently, she spends her free time on freelance test writing projects for a standardized testing organization. Her hobbies include painting, bridge, needlework, crosswords and reading.
