Western NC Low Income Taxpayer Clinic/Legal Services for the Elderly Paralegal-Advocate
Newman received his B.A. in psychology with a minor in Spanish from Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania, where he participated in several overseas programs in Spain, Brazil and Colombia to become fluent in Spanish and work with underserved communities. His previous experience includes working as a peer counselor at Swarthmore, a circulation assistant at the McCabe Library and a New York Times Delivery Lead Manager. Newman joined LSSP in August 2015.
As president of a campus cultural group during college, Newman helped launch an initiative for low-income youth from an underserved community. After graduation, he gravitated toward working with nonprofits because of his desire to help those who are underserved in this community. Now working with those who cannot afford an attorney to address critical tax and estate planning issues, Newman enjoys being able to make an impact in his community now. In his free time, he loves to cook and try new foods, learn and master new languages, find new places to go running, and travel when he is able.
